“If the story is simply blaming Apple and Foxconn,” wrote a user on the Chinese social site Weibo.com, “then it is simplifying the problem. Other companies including HTC, Lenovo, HP and Sony and their OEM [subsidiaries] … share the same situation,” adding that OEM factory workers are often “working in even harsher environments and having more overtime” than Foxconn workers. The user also pointed out that labor organizations are scarce, and that the government tends to shield the companies due to their high profits.

There is a regression in VMWare that the new virtual graphics devices have a different data path, giving you a black screen when you try to get your Jedi on.
Users of Parallels didn’t have this problem, and now VMWare has started working on a fix and has made the older VMWare Tools video drivers available for those of us that can’t stand rebooting into Windows every time we want to use the Force.
This is a good one. I’m really entertaining.

The following is written in response to some articles and commentary on MacInTouch, regarding Declan McCullagh’s article on CNET about Judge Blackburn’s decision ordering Ramona Fricosu to decrypt her laptop.
Countering President Obama’s decision to host Warren Buffet’s secretary for the State of the Union, House Speaker John Boehner said Tuesday he will host a handful of people who would have benefited if Mr. Obama had approved the Keystone XL pipeline.
In other words, Boehner has invited everyone that would benefit from this scheme. That’s just the kind of big thinking we need, keep it up Mr. Speaker.
And once the service stabilizes I’m sure I’ll be able to use it. A real shame Apple just can’t let iPhone 4 users have Siri.

Hey remember when this assbag referred to being linked to the policies of the President of the United States as “touching a tar baby”?
I’m shocked SHOCKED to hear that he’s also one of those attorneys in Congress that doesn’t do anything but argue with people over and over again.

In a hilarious turn of events, two of the four disks in my NAS at home are starting to collect ever-escalating numbers of re-allocated sectors. I have shipped 4 disks to Seagate this month already.
My prediction: I ship 4 more by the end of February.
An excellent article on the state of manufacturing in the United States, and Apple’s supply chain.

I bet you can’t show me a single product for the Mac owned by Symantec that doesn’t suck harder than a Twilight novel.
